Details : Showing as part of the Birth of Now season. Alongside architect Edwin Lutyens, Gertrude Jekyll created many gardens for houses he designed, influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement. Showing as part of the Birth of Now season. Gertrude Jekyll became involved in gardening late in her life, as she discovered that she was gradually losing her sight. She went on as part of a prolific partnership with architect, Edwin Lutyens to create many hundreds of gardens for houses he designed, heavily influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
Her influence on gardening is still to be found today with her ideas for single colour herbaceous borders, as well as her many books on gardening.
